Michael,

Thanks so much for this article - I agree 110% with almost all of it. I am a PCA pastor in Iowa, and over the past two years I have been convicted over my sinful apathy and inaction regarding abortion. I started digging into Abort73 and listening on Spotify when doing research for a Sunday school class in our church, and since then, have listened to every article you've published. God has put a really heavy burden on my heart, and (among other things) I've been going to our local abortion clinic to offer help and plead with moms going in. I wonder what you'd say about the abortion abolition movement (i.e. Russell Hunter and Jeff Durbin, etc...). It has struck me getting into their material too that there is a real need for the church to speak with clarity and act with biblical consistency. Hearing this article and other articles like the one entitled "Abortion and the Veil of Ignorance" makes me think you'd agree, at least somewhat.

If you are interested in writing an article on abolition, or even talking sometime if you're interested/free, I'd like that.

Thanks again,

Lincoln

Thank you, Lincoln, for your remarks. I'm glad you came across Abort73 and that it's been a help to you. And thanks for continuing to listen. It's been a decade or more since I was specifically asked about the abortion abolition movement—though it's never been clear to me who or what falls under that banner. At the time, there was debate over how "best" to combat abortion in America. Was incremental progress acceptable? Or was any allowance for the continuation of abortion unbiblical on its face? I don't know Russell or Jeff personally and am not familiar with their work, but if they're calling the church to actively stand against abortion, I suspect there is much we would agree on.
